WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The Costings Manager will work closely with Design, Production and Product Merchandising to support the development of commercial collections each season. Working closely with internal and external partners to manage annual price changes and driving negotiation with suppliers, you will be a strong relationship builder, an effective communicator using your people skills to ensure a positive impact to margins and Gross Profit.

 

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

  • Develop open costing and cross costing framework/tools for all product areas including Clothing, Footwear and Accessories
  • Manage counter-costing process and negotiate all commercial terms of cooperation
  • Negotiate cost price with suppliers to improve profit margin
  • Analyse cost breakdown to ensure our products have been priced legitimately based on the principle of we are paying the right cost for the right product
  • Identify possible solutions to add value to the products without increasing the cost
  • Challenging information provided by suppliers based on material (fabric and trims), packaging, CMT, duty variances, freight
  • Present thorough analysis on costing to the heads of department and directors
  • Negotiating cost of materials with suppliers through building relationships with suppliers and advising the forecast quantity of production

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED FOR THE ROLE?

  • Proven experience with and knowledge of garment technology with a solid understanding of costings and pattern cutting
  • Experience of pattern manipulations and lay- plans
  • Experience of working with global vendors
  • Extensive experience in detailed apparel open costing and excellent skill of negotiation.
  • Strong understanding of garment and fabric construction, trims, material consumption and CMT.
  • Familiar with garment production process and critical path management.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing.
  • Strong analytical skills – Use Oracle and Business Object to extract and analyze data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator.
